Touch-Ups
Restore faded ink and keep your tattoo looking sharp. Our artists refresh color, darken lines, and fix minor wear from sun exposure or aging.
Tattoos fade over time. Sun exposure breaks down pigment. Skin regenerates. Lines blur. Colors lose saturation. A touch-up brings your piece back to life without starting over. Most tattoos need refreshing every 5-10 years depending on placement, ink quality, and how much sun they see. Hands, feet, and areas with constant friction fade faster.
We assess what needs work before picking up the machine. Sometimes it's just the outline that needs darkening. Other times certain colors dropped out while others held. Black and grey pieces might need contrast restored. We match the original style so the refresh blends seamlessly. If your tattoo was done elsewhere, bring a photo of how it looked fresh if you have one.
Touch-ups typically run faster than the original session. We're working over existing ink, not building from scratch. Small areas might take 30 minutes. Larger pieces or full color restoration can run 2-3 hours. Pricing depends on size and how much needs reworking. We quote after seeing the piece in person.
Book a consultation if you're unsure whether your tattoo needs a touch-up or a cover-up. Minor fading gets fixed. Heavy blowouts or poorly executed work might need a different approach. We'll tell you what's realistic. Bring the tattoo in and we'll map out a plan.
Aftercare matters just as much the second time. Touch-ups heal like new tattoos. Keep it clean, moisturized, and out of direct sun for two weeks. Use SPF 30 or higher once healed if the tattoo gets regular sun. Proper care extends the life of the refresh and keeps the ink vibrant longer.

Touch-Ups — FAQ
How long should I wait before getting a touch-up?
Wait until the tattoo is fully healed and settled, usually 6-12 months minimum after the original work. This lets the ink settle into the skin and shows what actually needs fixing versus what's still healing.
Do you touch up tattoos done at other shops?
Yes. Bring the tattoo in for a consultation. We assess what needs work and quote based on the condition and size. If you have photos of the original fresh tattoo, bring those too.
Does a touch-up hurt more than the original tattoo?
Pain level is similar. Some people find it slightly less painful because we're going over already-tattooed skin. Placement matters more than whether it's a touch-up or original work.
Will my touch-up fade at the same rate as the original?
Depends on aftercare and sun exposure. Use sunscreen on healed tattoos, especially if they get daily sun. Areas with constant friction fade faster regardless of how many times they're touched up.
