Our artists sketch concepts based on what you want, refine them with your feedback, and execute the final piece with precision. No flash sheets. No cookie-cutter designs. Every custom piece is built for you alone.

The process begins with a consultation. You sit down with one of our artists at our Westheimer Road shop and talk through your vision. Size, placement, style, meaning. We sketch initial concepts, discuss what works on skin versus paper, and adjust until the design feels right. This step matters because a great tattoo idea needs translation into a design that ages well and fits your body.

Our artists specialize in traditional style, black and grey, fineline, and other techniques. Each style demands different approaches to line weight, shading, and composition. Traditional uses bold outlines and solid color. Black and grey relies on contrast and depth. Fineline requires steady hands and attention to detail. We match the right artist to your project based on style and complexity.

Timeline varies by piece. Simple designs can go from concept to skin in one session. Larger custom work may need multiple appointments for sketching, stencil approval, and tattooing. Sleeves, back pieces, and detailed compositions take time. We book appointments to give each project the attention it deserves without rushing the work.

Custom designs cost more than flash because they require artist time before the tattoo gun starts. Consultation, sketching, revisions, and stencil prep all factor into pricing. We quote projects after seeing the concept and discussing size and placement. Deposits hold your appointment and go toward the final cost.

How long does the custom design process take?

Simple custom pieces can be designed and tattooed in one visit. Complex projects may need a consultation appointment, then a separate session for the actual tattoo. Large pieces like sleeves require multiple sessions spaced weeks apart for healing.

Can I bring my own design or reference images?

Yes. Bring reference images, sketches, or descriptions of what you want. Our artists use your input to create a design that works technically as a tattoo. We adjust proportions, line weight, and composition to ensure the piece looks good on skin and ages well.

Do you charge for the design consultation?

Initial consultations are free. Once we move forward with a custom project, we collect a deposit that applies to the final tattoo cost. The deposit covers design time and holds your appointment slot.

What if I don't like the initial design sketch?

We revise designs based on your feedback. The goal is a tattoo you want to wear permanently. We adjust sketches until the design feels right before putting anything on your skin.
